Delete your WordGrove account

This page lets you request deletion of your WordGrove account and cloud data without needing to have the app installed. It works alongside the in-app deletion option (Profile → Progress Backup → Delete account).

What gets deleted

  • Your linked account (Google or Apple sign-in link) and its authentication record
  • Your cloud backup of game progress and vocabulary (SRS) cards
  • Your daily-challenge leaderboard entry and the generated display name attached to it
This happens permanently and cannot be undone.

What is NOT deleted by this

  • Progress saved locally on your device (levels, coins, streak, learned words) — this lives only on your phone and is untouched by an account deletion. To remove it, uninstall the app.
  • Anonymous usage-analytics events already sent (if you had turned analytics on) — these are not linked to your account by design, so there is nothing to single out for deletion. They are automatically deleted after at most 1 year regardless. See our Privacy Policy, §6 and §9.
  • Crash reports (Sentry), for the same reason — we never attach a personal identifier to them, so they cannot be traced back to your account. They are automatically deleted after 30 days.

Option 1 — Delete inside the app (fastest)

The route depends on whether you linked an account. Both are in-app and take effect immediately.

If you linked a Google or Apple account:

  1. Open WordGrove and go to Profile
  2. Tap Progress Backup
  3. Tap Delete account and confirm
Deletes the account, the cloud backup, and the leaderboard entry.

If you never linked an account (or you only want to leave the leaderboard):

  1. Open WordGrove and go to Profile → Privacy
  2. Switch Leaderboard off and confirm
Deletes your score and generated name from the leaderboard, and stops new scores being sent. If you have a linked account, your cloud backup is not affected.

Option 2 — Request deletion by email (no app needed)

If you no longer have the app installed, or cannot sign in, email us and we will delete your account manually.

Send an email to the address below with the subject "Delete my WordGrove account", and include:

  • The name shown next to your score on the daily-challenge leaderboard, e.g. QuietOwl_412 (if any), or
  • The email address of the Google/Apple account you linked to WordGrove

This lets us find and verify your account before deleting it. We process email deletion requests within 30 days.

A leaderboard name on its own is not proof that the account is yours — it is visible to everyone on the list. Deletion is permanent, so before we delete a record identified only by that name we will ask you for something that shows the record is yours — for example a detail only the account holder would know, or the request coming from the email address of a linked Google or Apple account. If we cannot satisfy ourselves that the request is genuine, we will refuse it. This protects you from someone else deleting your record.

Bununla NELER silinmez

  • Cihazınızda yerel olarak kayıtlı ilerleme (level'lar, coin'ler, seri, öğrenilen kelimeler) — bu yalnızca telefonunuzda yaşar ve hesap silme işleminden etkilenmez. Kaldırmak için uygulamayı silmeniz gerekir.
  • Zaten gönderilmiş anonim kullanım-analitiği olayları (analitiği açmışsanız) — bunlar tasarım gereği hesabınıza bağlı değildir, bu yüzden silmek için ayırt edilebilecek bir şey yoktur. Zaten en fazla 1 yıl sonra otomatik olarak silinirler. Bkz. Gizlilik Politikamız, §6 ve §9.
  • Çökme raporları (Sentry), aynı nedenle — bunlara hiçbir zaman kişisel tanımlayıcı eklemeyiz, bu yüzden hesabınıza kadar izlenemezler. Zaten 30 gün sonra otomatik olarak silinirler.

  1. WordGrove'u açın ve Profil'e gidin

Hesabı, bulut yedeğini ve liderlik tablosu kaydını siler.

Hiç hesap bağlamadıysanız (veya yalnızca liderlik tablosundan çıkmak istiyorsanız):

  1. WordGrove'u açın ve Profil → Gizlilik'e gidin
  2. Liderlik tablosu anahtarını kapatın ve onaylayın
Skorunuzu ve üretilen adınızı liderlik tablosundan siler ve yeni skor gönderimini durdurur. Bağlı bir hesabınız varsa bulut yedeğiniz etkilenmez.

Seçenek 2 — E-posta ile silme talep edin (uygulama gerekmez)

Uygulama artık yüklü değilse veya giriş yapamıyorsanız, bize e-posta gönderin; hesabınızı elle sileceğiz.

Aşağıdaki adrese "WordGrove hesabımı sil" konu satırıyla e-posta gönderin ve şunları ekleyin:

  • Günlük challenge liderlik tablosunda skorunuzun yanında görünen ad, örn. QuietOwl_412 (varsa), veya
  • WordGrove'a bağladığınız Google/Apple hesabının e-posta adresi

Bu, silmeden önce hesabınızı bulup doğrulamamızı sağlar. E-posta ile gelen silme taleplerini 30 gün içinde işleme alıyoruz.

Liderlik tablosundaki ad tek başına hesabın size ait olduğunun kanıtı değildir — o ad listedeki herkese görünür. Silme kalıcı olduğu için, yalnızca bu adla tanımlanan bir kaydı silmeden önce sizden kaydın size ait olduğunu gösteren bir şey isteriz — örneğin yalnızca hesap sahibinin bilebileceği bir ayrıntı ya da talebin bağlı bir Google/Apple hesabının e-posta adresinden gelmesi.
